DLP Reflection Cycle 3, Week 3: Winter Institute!!!!!

Whew!! I am tired! Now, normally, I would make a video to tell you all about my week. But, since I am in my pajamas in my bed, I thought it might not be appropriate.

I drove 2 hours and 23 minutes Wednesday night to Oxford Alabama for our DLP Winter Institute. It was amazing! We spent two days listening to great speakers, getting new information, tweeting (I have never tweeted so much in my life!) , and learning about all the work being done in the other DLP schools in Alabama.
Gettin' my tweet on!
It was really nice to see so many of the people from the program team and get the opportunity to hear from Jennie Magiera again. She talked to us about some really practical observation tools.
Selfie with Jennie!!
As always, Wendy came through with her crazy ice breakers (a little angry cat, baby, knife anyone!?!?!).
It's always better when we work together!
My mentor Jornea and Wendy also gave us some real world scenarios while role playing.

One of my absolute favorite parts of the 2 days was the presentation by Marco. His take on story telling and how it can really be used to help students find and use their voice and then share it on a larger scale was both interesting and empowering.
Marco, weaver of tales!
I loved getting the opportunity to do Maker Kitchen! I made a circuit and a "Welcome Sign." I had no "end goal" in mind when I started which was a little frustrating (but totally the point). But, in the end, I was proud of my "sticktoitness" and my final product.

And, as a follow up from last week, I AM NOT BEHIND! I stuck to my schedule, had all of my teacher meetings and completed my documentation!

And now, good night

  1. Awesome reflection of Winter Institute! I'm glad you found it to be beneficial for your daily work as a coach as ways to enhance what you are already doing. I love all of the evidence in your blog from the pictures, videos and giphys!!!! Continue to share McNair's story via Twitter #DLPCoaching and I look forward to hearing the innovative ideas your teachers will implement as a result of having a great coach!
