DLP Reflection Week 9: Getting Certified and Getting GSuite!!
So......I went to an EdTech Bootcamp the 13th and 14th of October in Sheffield. I learned so much during those two days with our instructor Nate. The other DLP coaches and I are moving toward getting Level 1 Google Certified and this boot camp was our first step. I took my test this past Saturday and..........I passed!!! Check out my letter of commendation! It took me 2 hours and 50 minutes, and I am so glad I got it done. Now, on to Level 2! Another wonderful surprise from the last two weeks is that my district gave GSuite access to the 5 DLP coaches and their teachers and students! All the things that we have been learning about and watching others in our cohort be able to do, we can do now also! I have a couple of teachers who are ready to jump in. I have been advised to take it slow. As a system, we are use to Microsoft products. My plan is to introduce them to the products one at a time based on their needs. April, you have such a beautiful spirit and I'm loving the VLog (video blog)! One major Gripe Jam consistency you mentioned, was time-management. This laser-like focus on time-management as you mentioned will effect so many other factors including students time-on-task and reducing need for behavior management. I'm glad you thought about the idea I shared from coaching fellow, Shannon, Bridgeport Middle, about conducting another Gripe Jam again a few weeks later in the school year. I'm wondering if eventually, the gripes will move from teacher-centered to student-centered over time. #McNairStrong
